Hey, dearest readers!
Today, I will share some of my new favorite books I read this year—these books I gave five stars plus a heart <3.
In case you are curious, here is my rating system:
1 star—hated the book or probably DNF’d.
2 stars—I was not too fond of it, but there were some aspects that I liked that stopped me from giving only one star.
3 stars—the book is good, but good-average, nothing new. The book was entertaining, and I enjoyed reading it.
4 stars—I liked the book. The plot and characters were good, and I was surprised by how much I liked it. However, there is one flaw, and I will never stop thinking about it.
5 stars—I am literally in love with the book and its characters. If there are any flaws, I don’t mind them because the book is excellent.
5 stars + <3 - book enters my favorite for life list.
My roommate is a vampire by Jenna Levine
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Review: It is a fun and different take on paranormal romance and is very rom-com-like.
The other people by C J Tudor
Genre: Thriller
Review: WOW. You should just read it for the plot. I love a book with intelligent and complete stories interconnected.
The Bodyguard by Katherine Center
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Review: She is the bodyguard, which makes this book very interesting with this reverse characterization.
Wildfire by Hannah Grace
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Review: I did not think I would love it as much as I did with “Icebreaker,” but life surprises us, I guess.
Heartstopper Vol. 5 by Alice Oseman
Genre: Graphic Novel
Review: This whole series is so unique that there is no way any book will not be on my favorites list.
The Graham Effect by Elle Kennedy
Genre: Sports Romance
Review: I love that Elle Kennedy decided to tell Gigi’s love story. It was so cute to read and experience her falling in love. HOWEVER, I honestly wanted “Campus Diaries” to be about all the OG’s kids, not the new hockey team.
Flawless by Elsie Silver
Genre: Cowboy Romance
Review: The cowboy hat rule. That is it.
Twisted Lies by Ana Huang
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Review: They had so much chemistry, and their story was incredible. This is the first romance book series, and the last book surprised me and was my favorite of all the others.
Love at First Spite by Anna E Collins
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Review: I love how these characters and the story matched—such a perfect book.
Never Sit If You Can Dance by Jo Giese
Genre: Memoir
Review: I cried because I could relate to some of the things in this book. It's a must-read.
The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose
Genre: Thriller
Review: The last chapter. Please read it. NOW.
Would Like to Meet by Rachel Winters
Genre: Chic Lit
Review: It gave me the feeling of watching a 2000s rom-com.
Body check by Elle Kennedy
Genre: Sports Romance
Review: The two main characters were fire together.
The Summer of Broken Rules by K L Walther
Genre: YA romance
Review: It had been a while since I read a good YA romance, and this book checked all the boxes.
Scoring the Player by Rebecca Jenshaw
Genre: Sports Romance
Review: You should read it to experience Felix, such a cute book boyfriend.
Heartless by Elsie Silver
Genre: Cowboy Romance
Review: I never thought I would love Cade as I did when I read this book. Definition of “I can fix him,” and Willa indeed fixed him.
That is it for now! I can’t wait to bring you more 5-star recommendations. Remember: if you read any of these books, comment here, and let’s talk about them. And if you haven’t read them yet, here is my support.
Read you soon,
Bea.
